Welcome to Midland

Midland works with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing a lifetime of caring for individuals with special needs. We’re driven by an overarching goal—to help each individual to be the best they can be.

Accommodating a wide range of disabilities, Midland offers educational, social, employment, and residential support services. Our approach is highly individualized and incorporates a lot of flexibility, with an emphasis on personal choice, self-advocacy, full community inclusion, and self-determination to support each person’s life goals. For more than 60 years, we’ve been successfully helping individuals reach their highest level of personal achievement and independence, while supporting families as they navigate life with a loved one with special needs.

To deepen their understanding, students engaged in hands-on activities where they made objects move by either pushing or pulling them. Various items were placed Room 219

Room 217

This school year, the students had a great time developing their reading, writing, and math skills through a variety of engaging and interactive activities. During group reading lessons, they participated in shared readings using stories from the Learning Without Tears reading program, each aligned with a letter of the alphabet. Room 217

Room 220

In room 220, the students have been working on identifying and sorting wet and dry food ingredients. To accomplish this goal, they have been working on both matching and sorting activities. There is a dry ingredient measuring cup and a measuring cup with a spout for wet ingredients. Students take Room 220
